Who these groups are for

These groups are for students currently working at, or predicted, a grade 4 to 6, who want to secure a 5, 6 or 7 in May 2027.

  • You are sitting AA or AI, at SL or HL, in May 2027.
  • Your current or predicted grade is 4, 5 or 6.
  • You have covered most of your course, but struggle with mixed or unfamiliar questions.
  • You can attend all eight weekly sessions and complete about an hour of practice each week.

Group tutoring or one-to-one?

If your current grade is below 4, if you need help with large parts of the course you haven’t studied yet, or if you need a flexible timetable, one-to-one tutoring will serve you better.

In a groupOne shared plan, fixed dates, and individual feedback on the set work.
One-to-oneA plan for your own needs, flexible times, and attention to every part of your work.

How each week works

  1. 2 hours on Zoom, with a short break: short explanations, worked questions, and time to try questions yourself while I look at your working.

  2. Practice: 4 to 6 exam-style questions on that week’s topics, about an hour of work, due 48 hours before the next session.

  3. My marking: brief written feedback on your score, your main error, and what to focus on next.

  4. Shared corrections: the next session starts with the mistakes the group made most often.

You also receive written notes after each session, a progress report at the midpoint and at the end, and one final timed paper after session 8, which I mark. Parents can receive copies of the reports.

What you will practise

  • Choosing the right method when a question mixes several topics.
  • Writing complete, clearly set-out solutions that meet mark-scheme expectations.
  • Checking conditions, domains and restrictions before giving a final answer.
  • Using the GDC efficiently wherever it is allowed.
  • Managing your time on full exam-style questions.

Progress depends on your starting point, your attendance and the work you do between sessions. No grade is guaranteed.

The 8-week plans

Each course has its own plan. For the January groups, session 1 is on 16 or 17 January.

How to join

  1. Request a place using the form below. I reply by email straight away with the details and the fee.

  2. When your group reaches 8 students, I email you the dates.

  3. You complete a short diagnostic, so I can confirm your level is in the 4 to 6 range and that you have covered enough of the course.

  4. You attend the first session.

Everyone in a group studies the same course and works at a similar level. I run two groups at a time, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, and groups open in the order they reach 8 students. If a group fills before January, it can start about two weeks later, with a two-week break over Christmas.

Taught personally by Abdulhamid

I specialise in IB Mathematics and teach every session myself. I’ve taught more than 7,000 IB Math lessons to students in over 40 countries, across AA and AI at both levels. In every session, the focus is on how you think through a question and how you set out your answer, not just the final result.

From my students and parents

  • Math AI HL

Mr. Abdulhamid has helped me achieve a level 7 in predicted grades in IB AI HL Mathematics. His explanations are clear and easy to understand, unravelling concepts logically and straightforwardly.

  • Math AA SL

Abdulhamid is an outstanding teacher. His great command of mathematics means that he can instil confidence in his students by clarifying all their doubts and making them more and more independent. He also has a great knowledge of the IB programme.

  • Math AA HL

Abdulhamid is an AMAZING tutor! He is teaching my daughter for HL of IB math, and we are very happy! He explains well, very attentive, sends extra materials for practice.

Questions and course policies

Levels, timings, payment and how the course runs.

Your current or predicted grade should be 4, 5 or 6, and you should have covered most of your course. The diagnostic confirms this before the first session.

Request a place anyway and choose “Neither” in the form. It shows me where demand is for other times.

You receive the session notes and that week’s practice, and I still mark your work. Sessions aren’t repeated individually.

No. You receive written notes after each session instead.

No. New students can’t join after the first session.

48 hours before the next session. Late work may not be marked in time.

Yes. Parents can receive the midpoint and final progress reports.

You tell me whether you’d like to continue. Your place in the group is confirmed once the course fee is paid, within 48 hours of the first session. If you decide not to continue, you don’t need to do anything.

Once the course fee is paid, it isn’t refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. If I cancel a group, you receive a full refund for any sessions not delivered.

By email only. I don’t use group chats.
