IB Math Tutoring by an IB Specialist

I teach only IB Math. That single focus allows me to recognise problems quickly, explain the hardest questions simply, and prepare students to show their understanding in the way IB examiners reward.

What I look for in your work

I am not only checking whether you can do the math. I’m checking if your work gets the marks it deserves. And honestly, I see the same issues again and again.

01

You can do it at home. The exam is different.

You solve the questions fine in a lesson or for homework, but the same questions feel harder under exam pressure. You still know the math. Pressure just changes how you read, decide, and work under time.

02

Long, mixed questions are where it gets hard.

You may understand each topic on its own, but the longer IB questions combine several ideas at once, and that is where you can get lost, unsure which idea the question is testing or where to begin.

03

The answer is right. The solution is incomplete.

You reach the correct answer but leave out the reasoning, notation, or steps the mark scheme is looking for. The math is right. The solution does not show enough for every mark.

04

You spend ten minutes on a question worth five marks.

Getting stuck costs more than those few marks. It uses up the time you needed for the rest of the paper, and the pressure grows as the questions keep coming.

My goal is simple. You should leave every lesson knowing exactly what improved, what still needs work, and what to do before we meet again.

How sessions work

Every student starts somewhere different. This is what does not change.

1

Understand the problem

I go through your current level, your recent work, and your weak topics, looking at method, notation, and exam structure, not only whether the answers are right.

2

Build the plan

I build a plan around your exam date, your target grade, and what your school has covered so far.

3

Learn and practise

We work on Zoom in real time. You solve, I catch the errors early and tell you what the examiner is looking for. Everything comes to you as a PDF afterwards.

4

Measure progress

Between sessions you get past-paper questions matched to what we did, sorted by topic. I check your work and track what is improving.

"I teach you to understand and approach, not to memorise and repeat."

From Grade 2 to Grade 6 in six months

Mariia understood the basics early on. Where she struggled was the harder questions, especially the ones that mix several concepts together. She was also working with little organisation when we started. Over a few months she learned to see what each question was really asking, and we went through past papers properly until she was doing it consistently. She finished with a 6.

“I really enjoyed my lessons with Abdulhamid. Even despite my poor knowledge in maths with a Grade 2 in IB AA SL, I improved to a Grade 6 in six months, all thanks to Abdulhamid. I advise this tutor to everyone who’s not confident in maths and wants to improve.”

70%
Scored a 6 or 7
In the May 2026 session, 70% of the students who had been with me for a year or more scored a 6 or 7. Students who came to me in the last month or two are not in that number.
Grade 6

“Very well experienced IB tutor. He has really helped me improve my grade in IB DP AI HL because of his great teaching, patience and revision guides. Would definitely recommend.”

Parent Review

“The best!! Abdulhamid is an extremely talented tutor for the IB diploma. He immediately recognised her challenges and was able to tailor his approach. He is by far the best tutor we have ever had. My daughter is now thriving in math despite her challenges.”

Choose your format

Two formats, the same focus on how the exam is marked.

Individual

One-to-one

Timing that works around your schedule and your target grade.

Choose this if

You have specific weak topics, need scheduling that can move, or you are working toward a particular grade.

Small group

Group sessions

A fixed weekly slot with five students at a similar level, taught entirely by me.

Choose this if

Topic review, then exam-style problems. You want a weekly routine and the accountability of a fixed time.

Common questions

About sessions, pricing, and progress.

It depends on the format, how often we meet, and how long we have. Apply with your details and I will send you a clear quote within 12 hours. No sales call required.

Fifty-five minutes, spent solving real IB questions rather than watching me talk. Most students meet once or twice a week. I will recommend a schedule based on your exam date, current level, and target grade.

I track it every session. If something is not improving after three or four weeks, we change the approach. I will tell you directly what is working and what is not.

Yes, and it is its own piece of work. Criterion by criterion on your own writing, from the topic to the final draft. See IA Review and Feedback.

Ready to start?

Tell me your exam date, your target grade, and where you are now. Tutoring starts with a plan made around your situation, not a template.

When you apply, I will tell you honestly whether I am the right fit, what I think is realistic, and what I would recommend next.
